    Boston is an engineer’s band, man. Substitute REO Speedwagon in your top three (Styx, Journey, REO) and it makes sense. Boston’s the most underrated overplayed band, man.

    These were ‘cyclical’ bands. We just get tired of thinking sometimes. Music periodically drops to some level like this before there’s a backlash. Disco, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon (who I sorta liked before they hit the bigtime) etc. Sometimes it’s overly slick, sometimes overwrought, sometimes mindless catchphrases… The backlash gave us Punk and a short Rockabilly Revival. I look forward to backlashes in music AND mainly in our political leanings.
