Who is Nancy Nord working for?

Strengthening of Consumer Agency Opposed by Its Boss
WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 — The top official for consumer product safety has asked Congress in recent days to reject legislation that would strengthen the agency that polices thousands of consumer goods, from toys to tools.
On the eve of an important Senate committee meeting to consider the legislation, Nancy A. Nord, the acting chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, has asked lawmakers in two letters not to approve the bulk of legislation that would increase the agency’s authority, double its budget and sharply increase its dwindling staff.
Think of her the next time your kid sticks some Chinese made toy in its mouth to get that “good lead taste”.

This is what you get when you have an adminestration which does not essentially believe in government other than for military purposes. nancy nord was appointed by G.W. Bush in 2005 as part of his “small government” philosophy. After which she cnnabalized the agency leaving only one full-time employee in ncharge of toy safety.
The real issue here is not Ms. Nord, but the philosophy of that party or that faction of that party which does not truly believe that government has an important role in the lives of our citizen’s, and that all members of society should essentially be on there own when it comes to everything from product safety to heal care; knowing full well that those they are trully concerned with will have the resourses and best knowledge and information they need to protect themselves and be damned with the rest of society.
