Bible babbler to high school class: Shun Muslims

Students told to shun Muslims

RALEIGH – A national Muslim advocacy group has rebuked the Wake County Public School system for allowing a Christian evangelist to speak at Enloe High School and distribute pamphlets denouncing Islam.

Solomon’s appearance Friday in teacher Robert Escamilla’s social studies classes at Enloe, a magnet school for gifted and talented students, shocked many who took the pamphlets home and showed them to their parents, students said. One pamphlet, comparing Jesus with Muhammad, says the Muslim prophet “enslaved people, abused women and taught Muslims to terrorize non-Muslims and force them into Islam.”

Meanwhile, some people in this country still ponder…why do they hate us?

Cheney: Not exactly welcomed in Japan

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Dick Cheney, the US Vice-President, landed in Tokyo last night for what promised to be a frosty series of meetings, after weeks of outspoken criticism of American policy from within the Japanese Government.

Japanese Cabinet Ministers have openly denounced US policy in Iraq as childish and accused the Bush Administration of being cocky. The latest blow was last week’s agreement on North Korea’s nuclear programme which is privately regarded by many in Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Government as an American betrayal. Yasuhisa Shiozaki, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary, could hardly have been more dismissive of Mr Cheney’s visit. “Since the other party is coming over,” he said yesterday, when asked what was the point of Mr Cheney’s visit, “it must have some point for the other party.”

War against terror causes terror

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Our study shows just how counterproductive the Iraq War has been to the war on terrorism. The most recent State Department report on global terrorism states that the goal of the United States is to identify, target, and prevent the spread of “jihadist groups focused on attacking the United States or its allies [and those groups that] view governments and leaders in the Muslim world as their primary targets.” Yet, since the invasion of Iraq, attacks by such groups have risen more than sevenfold around the world. And though few Americans have been killed by jihadist terrorists in the past three years it is wishful thinking to believe that this will continue to be the case, given the continued determination of militant jihadists to target the country they see as their main enemy. We will be living with the consequences of the Iraq debacle for more than a decade.

More from that “religion of peace”

Following the Christian money trail

Last month, the US-based International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) said it donated some $37 million in aid to Israel and the Jewish people in 2006 – $20 million of which were given during last summer’s war with Hizbullah.

The IFCJ channels millions of dollars to Israel every year, the sum total of donations by evangelical Christians who believe that the return of the Jewish people to Israel signals the coming of “the last days,” fulfilling a prophecy they say will hasten the “second coming” of Jesus Christ.

So, using the “logic” of Neal Boortz and others of his loathsome ilk, this sort of makes mocking Islam as the “religion of peace” sorta silly, isn’t it? If evangelical Christians pump millions of dollars into arming Israel with cluster bombs, to target and kill large amounts of Lebanese civilians, does that make them “psycho killers”?

Makes sense to me.

Blair ‘to outline Iraq timetable’

Some 7,000 UK troops are currently serving in Iraq
Prime Minister Tony Blair is expected to announce a timetable for the withdrawal of UK troops from Iraq.

Mr Blair is set to make a statement to MPs in the House of Commons about the 7,200 British troops serving in Iraq.

It is thought he will say 1,500 troops are expected to return home in months, with 3,000 withdrawn by Christmas.

Hmm. Blair is getting his people out of harms way, while our simpleton in a suit increases our involvement. What do the Brits know that we don’t? Probably that the upcoming war with Iran will have a terrible impact on the region, and the British troops, located mainly in southern Iraq, would be directly in the line of fire when Iran strikes back.

Terror? We’ve got the pumped up numbers to prove it

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

WASHINGTON – Federal prosecutors counted immigration violations, marriage fraud and drug trafficking among anti-terror cases in the four years after 9/11 even though no evidence linked them to terror activity, a Justice Department audit said Tuesday.

Overall, nearly all of the terrorism-related statistics on investigations, referrals and cases examined by department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine were either diminished or inflated. Only two of 26 sets of department data reported between 2001 and 2005 were accurate, the audit found.

Seems the DoJ is following the “War on Drugs” playbook to a tee- wildly inflate your numbers to make a more compelling case for funding. Which is all- ALL – any of these “wars” have to do with. Money.

Feel safer now? Good.
